After you've enjoyed Come By The Hills with Sara Hillis, tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac or smart speaker and join me for The Early Years where and when you'll hear the best music from Rock and Roll's first forty years with nods to other decades and genres.
This week, I remember more artists who left us in December 2022 and January 2023 including an expanded tribute to Barrett Strong that I started late in last week's show.

From this Saturday at 12am Eastern, that’s 6pm Saturday in NZ, 4pm in Sydney and 5am in the UK, and repeated every four hours throughout the day, it’s the described movies The Elephant Man from 1980, and Chariots of Fire from 1981.
The Elephant Man is a 1980 British American biographical drama film about Joseph Merrick (John Merrick in the film), a severely deformed man in late 19th-century London.

The "Juke In The Back" focuses on the " soul that came before rock n' roll," the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
There were so many influential Rhythm & Blues artists who had a great impact on the development of Rock n' Roll, but were never able to profit from the new genre they helped to create.

This week on Deep Dive we stay with our Australian theme and enjoy the singing talent of the First Australian singer and songwriter Christine Anu. We hear about the monkey and the turtle, start stylin' up, and learn how to party.

Join me at 4 PM Eastern Monday, 8 AM Tuesday Eastern Australia. Or at 6 AM Eastern Wednesday, which is 10 PM in Eastern Australia. Request your SmartSpeaker of choice to play Mushroom FM and you will be there in the blink of an eye.

Deep Dive, where we focus on one artist for one hour, can only be heard on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys.

Tuesday is Valentine’s Day, and following the success of last year’s show, I’m hosting a Valentine’s Day special for the Mosen Explosion on Mushroom FM. For this to be a special show, it relies on you.

I’m hoping you’ll not only tune in, but send me in advance a request for a love song you want me to play. It might just be a love song that appeals to you, or that brings back fond memories. Or you may want to dedicate it to someone special in your life, or someone who you wish were special in your life.

I will conclude a unique survey of 50 tracks: The Canadian Edition begun a month ago, interrupted for two weeks for listener and artist tributes and continued last week.

Hello! Sara Hillis here to let you know what's coming up on this week's episode of Come by the Hills, Mushroom FM's Folk and Celtic music show. It's an encore presentation of last year's Valentine's Day episode. Yes, life has intervened yet again, and my weekend is going to be pretty busy, so I give you an episode originally aired on February 12, 2022, for your enjoyment. As ever, keep in mind that these reruns are snapshots in time, so promos and announcements may not reflect the current state of things at Mushroom FM. Still, I hope you'll like the episode.

From this Saturday at 12am Eastern, that’s 6pm Saturday in NZ, 4pm in Sydney and 5am in the UK, and repeated every four hours throughout the day, it’s the described movies Gridiron Gang from 2006, and Friday Night Lights from 2004.
Gridiron Gang is a 2006 American sports drama film directed by Phil Joanou, and starring Dwayne Johnson, Xzibit, L. Scott Caldwell and Kevin Dunn.

Burt Bacharach was one of the most important musical figures of the 20th century. He has died of natural causes at the age of 94.

In this three hour tribute, I’ll play you many of the hits Burt Bacharach helped to write. There are so many of them that there is little time for talk. So in this case, the music does much of the talking. You may find yourself surprised by the number of hits he has had a hand in.

Hadda Brooks is one of the most talented boogie woogie musicians of all-time, yet her name doesn't come up nearly as often as Pete Johnson, Champion Jack Dupree or Professor Longhair. That's a shame!
