We very much enjoy being a part of the Christmas line-up on Mushroom FM, and for me, broadcasting has been a big part of Christmas since I was a very small child. In fact, next year, I’ll be celebrating 50 years since my first Christmas show.

We opted not to attempt a live show this year, as Bonnie and I are on granddaughter watch and she is due to arrive any day. So we’ve done things a little differently this year.

I have something very special in hour 2 that I doubt has been heard on Mushroom FM before, the Jim Reeves Christmas show that was originally broadcast Christmas night in 1957 between 11 PM and midnight on "American, the American Broadcasting Network", that we now know as ABC.

Scrooge (released as A Christmas Carol in the United States) is a 1951 British Christmas fantasy drama film and an adaptation of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol (1843).

Hello! Sara Hillis here to give you a round-up of what's happening over the next few days in Sara-land here on Mushroom FM!

First, I'll be taking a week off from producing Sara Smiles between Christmas and New Years, so this Friday's show will be the final Sara Smiles of 2022. The show will resume its regular schedule on Monday, January 2, 2023.

The "Juke In The Back" focuses on the " soul that came before rock n' roll," the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
Matt The Cat has dug up some more R&B Christmas treasures and added a few tunes about New Years for this week's continuation of the "Juke In The Back" R&B Christmas Spectacular.

Deep Dive will be popping into your ears for Christmas. We have a special Christmas show for you for two hours, playing at 8 PM Eastern on Christmas eve, and at midday on Christmas day in Australia. It comes from Australia, and it is all about Australia, so for those of you in the northern hemisphere enjoy a little Australian Christmas warmth.

There were some firsts about this year's countdown. It was the first on a Saturday, the first to start at 7 AM Eastern, and most significant of all, the first on Mastodon which turned out to be a huge success.

This week on Deep Dive we are changing our format in celebration of Christmas. We enjoy a range of artists, pretty much all Australian, sharing their views of Christmas. The Sunny Cowgirls make several appearances, as do Olivia Newton-John, who sadly died this year, and Bucho and Champs. It's a delightful hour of Christmas merriment Aussie style.

Sara Hillis here just checking in to let you know that there *will* be a Come by the Hills show on Tuesday at the usual replay time of 5:00 AM Eastern, despite the fact that it was preempted in its original time-slot on Saturday by the amazing and fantabulous Mushroom FM Holiday Countdown! I've got an encore presentation from December 18, 2021 for you. It took place on the eve of last year's countdown, so you'll hear references to that, and you'll hear lots of songs about winter. some of the promos will be a bit off, but I hope you'll enjoy it.
