Kia ora everyone. It’s going to be a pleasure to get your written or audio contributions for this week’s Mosen At Large.

The Juke In The Back” focuses on the “soul that came before rock n’ roll,” the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
With so many wonderful vocal groups present during the 1950s, it took a few distinct ones to lead the pack and blaze the trail. The Heartbeats are always right up there with The Clovers, Harptones, Moonglows, Flamingos and the other leaders who carried the torch lit by the Orioles and Ravens during the late ’40s.

Looking forward to meeting you down on the Doo-wop Corner filled with doo-wop songs and memories from the fifties and sixties. Tell your smart Speakers to play mushroom FM. Every Sunday evening at 6 PM ET until 8 PM ET and repeated on Saturday Mornings from 4 to 6 Am ET for our friends in the UK.You can also
go to our website mushroomfm.com to listen.

Sara Hillis here to tell you about this week's very special edition of Come by the Hills, Mushroom FM's Folk and Celtic music show. This week, we're doing something we've done periodically over the years, featuring multiple versions of a song. In this case, it's the strange tale of the Two Sisters. It involves love, jealousy, murder, magical harps and/or fiddles and justice from beyond the grave, and sometimes even swans. We'll be playing several versions of this song throughout the show and sharing what we know of its origins and history.

This week on Deep Dive we listen to the dulcet tones of welsh singer Mary Hopkin, one of the sweetest voices in the Mushroom decades. We learn that those were the days, hear about the importance of puppies, and say goodbye. We also hear two songs in languages other than english.

Tune in at 4 PM Eastern Monday, 6 AM Tuesday in Eastern Australia. Or at 6 AM Eastern on Wednesday, 8 PM in Eastern Australia. If you love clear sounding female vocalists this is a show not to be missed.
