Hello again Mosen at Largers.
An update on what you will be able to hear on this weekend’s show. As well as the topics I mentioned a couple of days back, we have a couple more.
First, it is with much sadness that Bonnie and I learned of the death of Charlie Crawford. Charlie’s contribution to blind people and indeed the wider disability community in the United States was immense. He was instrumental in founding the Bay State Council of the Blind, was Commissioner at the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind for 14 years and became Executive Director of the American Council of the Blind, where he played a key role in one of the most dynamic periods in its history. And all that is just scratching the surface.
Bonnie and I will be remembering Charlie, and if you have thoughts or memories you would like to share, please feel free to do so. If you are on any email lists or other groups of people who may like to hear this part of the show and contribute to it, I would be most grateful if you could share this information. Charlie contributed so much and it will be a privilege to honour his memory.
Also in the show this week, if you’re in the UK, you may already be aware that you can no longer stream any radio station that is not in the UK on TuneIn. No, this is not a bug. It is the result of a court case that could have chilling implications the world over. If you love tuning into Internet radio from around the world, you need to hear about this case, because if they have come for TuneIn in the UK, they could come for any app around the world. For now though, I’ll explain what you can do to get around this issue on various devices you may own.
You are very welcome, and in fact encouraged, to get contributions in ahead of time. Please don’t be shy, I’d love to hear from you. To contribute, send an email with an audio attachment or just written down to Jonathan at MushroomFM.com, or call the listener line, +18646066736, that’s 1-864-60Mosen.
The best way to hear Mosen At Large is when it airs live and in full on Mushroom FM at 2 PM Eastern, 7 PM UK on Saturday. It will then be available in abridged form on the Mosen At Large podcast, available anywhere you get podcasts.
Thank you so much for listening and contributing to the show, and see you soon for Mosen At Large.
