Sara Hillis here to tell you about this week's very special edition of Come by the Hills, Mushroom FM's Folk and Celtic music show. This week, we're doing something we've done periodically over the years, featuring multiple versions of a song. In this case, it's the strange tale of the Two Sisters. It involves love, jealousy, murder, magical harps and/or fiddles and justice from beyond the grave, and sometimes even swans. We'll be playing several versions of this song throughout the show and sharing what we know of its origins and history.
IN the third hour, we'll also be paying tribute to my friend and sister of the heart Shannon Smith, who died very unexpectedly on September 16, 2017. her death is intimately connected with Come by the Hills for me, as I recorded a show only hours after receiving the news. We'll be hearing some audio from Shannon herself and some of her favourite music as well.
So join me live at 8:00 PM eastern, or catch the replay on Friday at 4:00 AM Eastern, 9:00 AM in the UK and Ireland!
