The "Juke In The Back" focuses on the " soul that came before rock n' roll," the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.

After you've enjoyed The Variety Vault with Paul Merrell, Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 4 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first quarter century of Rock with occasional nods to other decades and genres.

Tune in at 4 PM Eastern Monday, which is Tuesday morning in Eastern Australia. Or at 6 AM Eastern Wednesday, which is Wednesday in Eastern Australia. Joining is easy! Just ,tell that SmartSpeaker of yours to play Mushroom FM and you will be there faster than you can say I wanna hold your hand.

The first of May, otherwise known as May Day, might be the perfect holiday for Come by the Hills, as it is both a celebration of fertility and life as well as a celebration of workers' rights around the world, thus bridging the two major types of music featured on the show: music from the Celtic lands as well as music firmly rooted in union and worker culture. This week, I have a May Day episode for you from 2025, so if you hear discussions of May the Fourth, don't freak out. It's just a rerun.

It was Anzac day in Australia and New Zealand last week. On this day we recognise the sacrifice made by many men and women in the armed forces, so True Blue is a most appropriate song to play.

Hello! Sara Hillis here to let you know about the upcoming episode of Come by the Hills, the Folk and Celtic music show on Mushroom FM!
