Hello! Sara Hillis here to tell you that once again, I have an encore presentation for you on Come by the Hills. I'm unable to do a live show this week, so I thought I'd replay our tribute to Peter Yarrow which was originally broadcast on January 12th, 2025. If you listen, you will discover the origin of "keep your dragons safe," a line I often use to close out the show. So, in light of the military parade through Washington D.C.

The "Juke In The Back" focuses on the " soul that came before rock n' roll," the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.

After you've enjoyed The Mosen explosion with Jonathan Mosen tomorrow afternoon from 2 to 4 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first quarter century of Rock with occasional nods to other decades and genres.
All the music except one song this week is from the first quarter century of rock as I will continue the theme I began May 7 on my return show, long songs. You'll hear songs from March 1967 to October 1968. This is part 4 of what will be many parts.

This week on Deep Dive we enjoy the music of talented singing and song writing duo Simon and Garfuncle. We hear the sounds of silence, meet the boxer, and toast Mrs Robinson.

Tune in at 4 PM Eastern on Monday, which is 6 AM Tuesday in Eastern Australia. Or at 6 AM Eastern Wednesday, which is 8 PM in Eastern Australia. It's easy! Just tell that SmartSpeaker of yours to play Mushroom FM and you will be there faster than you can say jiminy cricket.

Hello! Sara Hillis here to let you know that it's time once again for our annual Stan Rogers show on Come by the Hills. Shows like this feel very relevant to many Canadians just now with all the talk of 51st states and such coming from the land to the south of us. This year, due to my being elseware and unable to broadcast live, I've decided to air the Stan Rogers show we did last year, on June 2nd, 2024 to be precise. I hope you'll find it interesting, whether or not you're Canadian.

The Larks are one of the most influential and best sounding vocal groups of the early 1950s and yet, they are never remembered quite as well as many of their contemporaries.

All the music this week is from the first quarter century of rock, in fact, an 8-year subset of the first quarter century as I continue the theme I began May 7 on my return show, long songs. This is part 3 of what will be many parts.

This week we enjoy the beautiful music and lyrics of American singer, musician and composer Dan Fogelberg. We meet the leader of the band, sing longer, and run for the roses.
