Yes, it's almost that time again already, less than 48 hours until the next installment of Come By The Hills! As usual, we have three hours of the best in Celtic music from around the world. However, this week, I'm pleased to present a listener-suggested Celtic Cover! This was suggested some months back and I think we'll all find it quite fun. Not only is it a parody of a well-known folk song, but it's a parody of a very specific version of said folk song. We'll hear the original along with the parody in the third hour.
We've got a cheeky little Gaelic song by The Rankin Family for our "What's That About?" feature, and we'll be going to Nova Scotia again to hear from a fine female fiddler in "Fiddlin' Around." We'll also hear a version of a song that I know as a Judy Collins classic, but this week we'll hear it sung by its original composer, none other than the gone-too-soon Sandy Denny herself.
So, if you're looking for some fun this Sunday night, you could certainly do worse than settling in for Come By The Hills: the Celtic Music Show on Mushroom FM. It starts at 8:00 PM Eastern on Sunday and replays again on Friday morning at 4:00 AM Eastern, 9:00 AM in the UK and Ireland. I hope you'll tune in and enjoy!
