Movie 1: Phenomenon (1996)
Phenomenon (1996) is a heartfelt romantic fantasy drama that explores themes of transformation, intelligence, and human connection.
Directed by Jon Turteltaub, the film follows George Malley, an ordinary small-town mechanic, who mysteriously acquires extraordinary mental abilities after
witnessing a strange celestial event on his birthday.
As George’s intellect and telekinetic talents grow, so too does the attention—from friends, scientists, and the government—leading to both wonder and fear
within his community.
Balancing emotional storytelling with gentle humour and philosophical curiosity, Phenomenon offers a reflective and uplifting look at what it means to
expand the limits of the human mind and heart.

Movie 2: District 9 (2009)
District 9 (2009) is a visually striking and politically resonant science-fiction thriller noted for its documentary-style
realism, gritty action, and social allegory. Directed by Neill Blomkamp, the film takes place in an alternate Johannesburg where stranded extraterrestrial
refugees are forced to live in harsh, segregated conditions within a militarised district. The story centres on Wikus van de Merwe, a bureaucrat tasked
with relocating the aliens, whose life is upended after an unexpected exposure to alien technology begins to change him—physically and morally. Combining
sharp commentary on discrimination with inventive worldbuilding and groundbreaking visual effects, District 9 earned international acclaim and redefined
modern science fiction cinema.
