After you've enjoyed The Variety Vault, Mushroom FM's newest show with Paul Merrell, tomorrow afternoon from 2 to 4 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first quarter century of Rock with occasional nods to other decades and genres.
The Moody Blues were one of the supergroups from the 60s to the 80s charting 21 songs on the billboard Hot 100 between 1965 and 1988. John Lodge joined the Moody Blues in 1966 and stayed in the group until 2018 when he retired. He passed away October 10, 2025 at the age of 82.
Last week, I remembered John Lodge by playing 18 of the 21 songs the group charted as that's all that time permitted me to play because of the lengths of many of the songs. This week, I'll play the other three charting songs before returning to my long songs theme; although two of the three Moody Blues songs you'll hear also fit that theme.
But before all that, I'll remember the 50th anniversary of the tragedy that took place November 10, 1975, the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

So join me, Steve Cutway, for The Early Years, tomorrow afternoon at 4 PM, where and when I will make musical and magical memories remembering the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, John Lodge of the Moody Blues, and more long songs, after The Variety Vault with Paul Merrell, and before Story Untold with PJ Noce. Then stay tuned for The Mosen explosion. The Early Years will replay Friday morning at 7 AM, after Decades in HD with PJ Noce and before The Mosen explosion, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories.
