After you've enjoyed Decades in HD with PJ Noce tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first quarter century of Rock with occasional nods to other decades and genres.
With one exception, the music is all from one year of that first quarter as I return to the theme I started a month ago, songs that didn't make the top 100 of 1964. I'll pick it up in March where I finished last week's show and continue to June; and although 1964 is now 61 years ago rather than 60, I'll continue this theme next week as I have lots of 1964 songs to play that I think are worth hearing.
A longtime Mushroom FM and Early Years listener celebrates a birthday on Monday. He requested a song which has many versions but I'm going to play a version from 1968 at the beginning of my second hour.
You can contact me any time by email at steve at mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows.
So join me, Steve Cutway, for The Early Years, when I make musical and magical memories remembering 1964 songs that didn't make the top 100 of the year, and celebrating a listener's birthday, tomorrow afternoon at 05:00, after Decades in HD with PJ Noce and Before Snow White FM with The Snowman. Then stay tuned for Dan Sweeney's One Hit Wonders, this week featuring one hit wonders from 1965 and 1966, followed by his #1 Music show, playing #1 songs on the Billboard hot 100, hot country and R&B charts this time of year from 1960-89. The Early Years replays Wednesday morning at 07:00 AM, after Deep dive with Graeme Innes and before Anthony Unleashed with Anthony Horvath, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories.
