After you've enjoyed Decades in HD with PJ Noce tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first quarter century of Rock with occasional nods to other decades and genres.
Summer isn't quite over yet even if it's beginning to feel like it. Fall or Autumn will begin at 08:44 AM Eastern North America time, next Sunday, September 22.
This week, I'm finishing the theme I began a month ago, playing songs that have Summer in the title, mention Summer in the lyrics, or both. Last week, I got to 1974 where I'll pick up the theme and continue to 1981. I'll finish the theme with a couple of songs from 1961 and 1962, one of which has an interesting history and version comparison.
In the last 40 minutes of the show, I'll pay tribute to James Darren, a well known film and TV actor, producer and director, who also charted 8 songs between 1961 and 1977. You'll hear them all.
You can contact me any time by email at steve at mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows.
So join me, Steve Cutway, for The Early Years, when I make musical and magical memories finishing my Summer songs theme, and remembering James Darren, tomorrow afternoon at 05:00, after Decades in HD with PJ Noce and Before Snow White FM with The Snowman. Then stay tuned for Dan Sweeney's One Hit Wonders, this week featuring late 60s R&B one hit wonders followed by Dan Sweeney's #1 Music, playing #1 songs this time of year from 1960-89. The Early Years replays Wednesday morning at 07:00 AM, after Deep dive with Graeme Innes and before Anthony Unleashed with Anthony Horvath, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories.
