After you've enjoyed Decades in HD with PJ Noce tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first quarter century of Rock with occasional nods to other decades and genres.
The show begins with one of my all-time favourite songs, written and recorded by an artist we lost July 10 at the young age (from where I sit) of 76, Dave Loggins. Sadly, his work is often confused with that of his second cousin, Kenny Loggins.
My tribute to Dave Loggins will be followed by a song suggestion about radio and being on the radio from a very loyal listener, Petra, and it's a good one.
I said last week I might play songs about Summer and I'm doing that but with a twist. Instead of songs that mention Summer in their titles and/or lyrics, I'm playing songs that charted in July from 1974 going back to 1961.
A second tribute to one of the great commedians whom we lost July 18 at the respectable age of 94, Bob Newhart, begins hour 2.
You can contact me any time by email at steve at mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows.
So join me, Steve Cutway, for The Early Years, when I make musical and magical memories with two tributes, a radio song and Summer music from 1961-74, tomorrow afternoon at 05:00, after Decades in HD with PJ Noce and Before Snow White FM with The Snowman. Then stay tuned for Dan Sweeney's One Hit Wonders, this week featuring one hit wonders from July 1955-85, followed by Dan Sweeney's #1 Music. The Early Years replays Wednesday morning at 07:00 AM, after Deep dive with Graeme Innes and before Anthony Unleashed with Anthony Horvath, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories.
