It’s Jonathan Mosen dropping in to let you know that as has become a tradition on Mushroom FM, Anthony and I will be celebrating Waitangi Day, which is new Zealand’s national day. We’ll be playing three hours of great kiwi music, slipping in a few old radio and TV ads and talking about some interesting aspects of New Zealand culture. If you’re a new Zealander, you’ll be singing along and hearing songs you may not have heard for years. If you’re not a New Zealander, you may just hear a few songs that become your favourites.
You have two chances to hear our Waitangi Day show, which thanks to the vagaries of time zones airs on 5 February in our official time zone of US Eastern. It first airs between 9 AM and noon, then it repeats between 9 PM and midnight. That equates to 3 AM and then 3 PM New Zealand time on Waitangi Day, so the second airing of the show will be at a great time for Kiwis to open a refreshing beverage on a hot summer day, fire up the BBQ, crank it up and sing along.
It's our annual Waitangi Day special, with Jonathan and Anthony, only on Mushroom FM. Because who else would be brave enough to broadcast this?
