After you've enjoyed Come By The Hills with Sara Hillis and the replay of her superb Gordon Lightfoot special originally broadcast May 6 of this year, tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM, all dressed up in her Saturday Clothes, as I will be, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years where and when you'll hear the best music from the first half of the Rock and Roll era with nods to other decades and genres.
The 150 "important" Canadian songs as tabulated by a panel of Canadian newspaper columnists, reporters and editors from the Winnipeg Free Press for Canada's Sesquicentennial in 2017, also known as "The Great Canadian Setlist", continues this week. I pick up the list in 1978 and continue to 1985, so it's a narrow, 7-year window. I'll continue to the end of the 90s next week.
I am a proud Canadian and will promote my country's music every chance I get, similar to what Sara does on "Come By the Hills".
You can contact me any time by email at steve at mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows.
