So sorry I have not blogged for the past couple of weeks! I am happy to say things are calming down, a little, so I hope to be back in the voice track show, write blog routine once again! This week's show features musicians who belong to the LBGTQ+ community, (or, in a couple of cases, are true community allies, or wrote a song which is meaningful to many community members.) I am so glad these musicians have found the courage to be their authentic selves in this world. I realize the fact they are part of the LBGTQ+ community should not matter, and, to me, it doesn't, aside from the fact that representation matters, so I assume their coming out has been meaningful to others on a similar journey. If you are a member of the LBGTQ+ community, happy Pride Month! Please know you can count me as an ally! I hope everyone enjoys this week's mix of music! I will be bringing you a show next week, and the theme will be songs with rock and roll in the title, or which are about the rock and roll lifestyle. I will then be taking a 2 week break in order to recover from a trip to Houston, and to enjoy a visit with my mom who will be coming from WI. I'm pleased to tell you that my friend, Caroline Toeves, will be covering for me on July 9 and July 16. I can't wait to see what she has planned--the songs, memories, and stories she will share! As always, you can request songs, suggest themes, or give me feedback about the show by emailing Melissa@mushroomfm.com, or tooting me on Mastodon @Melissa.social.mushroomfm.com. I hope you will be able to join me on Sunday, June 25, for the Pride show, from 4-6 pm Eastern. As always you can catch the replay on Thursday from 5-7 am eastern. Ask your smart speaker to play Mushroom FM, or tune in online at http://www.mushroomfm.com.
