From this Saturday at 12am Eastern, that’s 6pm Saturday in NZ, 4pm in Sydney and 5am in the UK, and repeated every four hours throughout the day, it’s the described movies Love Actually from 2003 and How the Grinch Stole Christmas from 2000.
Love Actually is a 2003 Christmas-themed romantic comedy film written and directed by Richard Curtis.
It features an ensemble cast, composed predominantly of British actors, many of whom had worked with Curtis in previous film and television projects.
Mostly filmed on location in London, the screenplay delves into different aspects of love as shown through ten separate stories involving a wide variety of individuals, many of whom are shown to be interlinked as the tales’ progress.
The story begins five weeks before Christmas and is played out in a weekly countdown until the holiday, followed by an epilogue that takes place one month later.
An international co-production between the United Kingdom, the United States and France, the film was released in the United States on 14 November 2003 and a week later in the United Kingdom, to generally mixed reviews.
Love Actually was a box-office success, grossing $246 million worldwide on a budget of $40–45 million.
It received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
Frequently shown during the Christmas season, the film has proved more popular with audiences than critics, and it has been discussed as being arguably a modern-day Christmas staple.
A made-for-television short film sequel, Red Nose Day Actually, aired in two different versions on BBC One and NBC in 2017.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (also known as Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas or simply The Grinch) is a 2000 American Christmas fantasy comedy film directed by Ron Howard, who also produced with Brian Grazer, written by Jeffrey Price and Peter S. Seaman.
The film is based on Dr. Seuss's 1957 children's book of the same name and is the first Dr. Seuss book to be adapted into a full-length feature film (and the first of only two live-action Dr. Seuss films, followed only by The Cat in the Hat in 2003), following the 1966 animated TV special of the same name as the second adaptation of the book.
The film is narrated by Anthony Hopkins and stars Jim Carrey as the eponymous character, with Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Bill Irwin, and Molly Shannon in supporting roles.
Produced by Imagine Entertainment, How the Grinch Stole Christmas was released by Universal Pictures in the United States on 17 November 2000.
The film earned mixed reviews from critics, who praised Jim Carrey's performance, but criticized its darker theme and somewhat scary moments, as well as deviating from the source material too drastically.
It spent four weeks as the #1 film in the United States.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas grossed $345 million worldwide, making it the sixth-highest grossing film of 2000 and originally becoming the second highest-grossing holiday film of all-time behind Home Alone (1990), until both films were surpassed in 2018 by the third film adaptation of the story.
It won the Academy Award for Best Makeup as well as getting nominations for Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design.
