Affter you've enjoyed the Saturday debut of Come By The Hills with Sara Hillis tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 to 05:00, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac or smart speaker and join me in The Early Years where and when you'll enjoy the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.
It's more than an occasional nod to other decades this week, eight decades in fact like last week, as music from the 1950s to today is included. I finish my time sweep of version comparisons with part 20, the longest theme I've done yet on The Early Years. A couple of listeners have been waiting for months to hear their suggestions and they finally will this week.
Thanks to everyone who submitted suggestions. It's been an amazing amount of fun putting it together.
Next week, I will begin the top 100 of 1961, 60 years ago.
But before all that, I will pay a brief, 3-song tribute to a minor 50s rockabilly and country performer who we lost July 4 at the age of 85, Sanford Clark.
You can contact me any time by email at steve at mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows.
So join me, Steve Cutway, in The Early Years, for a tribute to Sanford Clark and the final show of version comparisons, tomorrow afternoon at 05:00, after the Saturday debut of Come By The Hills with Sara Hillis and before Dan Sweeney's One Hit Wonders. The show replays Wednesday morning at 07:00 AM after Deep Dive with Graeme Innes and before Anthony Unleashed with Anthony Horvath, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories!
