Kia ora Mosen at largers. I have another content-rich show planned for you this weekend and I’m looking forward to hearing from you if you have an opinion to express.
By the time the show airs live, New Zealand’s election will be over and I will have voted. I expect it to be another effortless, home-based telephonic experience as it was for Bonnie, who voted early, impetuous person that she is.
Early voting continues for the US elections, and I’m still interested in hearing how easy or otherwise it is for our blind listeners in the United States to exercise their democratic right to vote. If you have any experiences to share, whether they be positive or negative, feel free to get in touch.
Are you ordering an iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro? Are you hanging out for next month’s iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 12 Mini? Are you underwhelmed? Are you just happy with what you have? We’re getting feedback on this question and you’re welcome to share yours. For the record, no new iPhone is in my immediate future.
Thursday 15 October was International White Cane day. Isn’t it interesting that the cane, a tool used by so many of us, has remained largely unchanged for centuries? The WeWalk Smart Cane wants to change all that. It’s a white cane that offers a companion app for iOS and Android, haptic feedback and turn by turn directions. Nick Zammarelli has one, and he’ll take us for a tour of the app, then go for a walk with the smart cane.
The International Council on English Braille meets starting this Sunday. I’ll speak with Matthew Horspool who’ll tell us how we can follow it live or via podcasts. The podcasts contain chapter marks and everything! Dude!
Following our discussion last week about those who are enthusiastic about self-driving cars and those who think it’s a pipe dream, there’s more listener reaction.
There are plenty of other interesting contributions coming in, so if you’d like to raise something completely different, feel free.
You are very welcome, and in fact encouraged, to get contributions in ahead of time. Please don’t be shy, I’d love to hear from you. To contribute, send an email with an audio attachment or just written down to Jonathan at MushroomFM.com, or call the listener line, +18646066736, that’s 1-864-60Mosen.
The best way to hear Mosen At Large is when it airs live and in full on Mushroom FM at 2 PM Eastern, 7 PM UK on Saturday. It will then be available in abridged form on the Mosen At Large podcast, available anywhere you get podcasts.
Thank you so much for listening and contributing to the show, and see you soon for Mosen At Large.
