Over the past several weeks, the classic rock world has lost four important figures. On this week's journey through The Depths, you will hear from all of them: rare live recordings from Dr. John and Leon Redbone, as well as important tracks from Gary Duncan of Quicksilver Messenger Service, and Roky Erickson from the 13th Floor Elevators. You'll even hear a brilliant spoken word piece from Ken Nordine, who we lost earlier this year.
I'll shine a brief spotlight on James Taylor with a couple unique covers of his classic tracks, plus a rare live recording of James himself doing a sarcastic Merle Haggard cover.
In the fourth hour, I'll play you some great new music from Alan Parsons, Gong and Peter Frampton.
There is also plenty of deep classic rock, and even a little classic jazz and blues for your ears to enjoy. So, get ready to stretch out, open your mind to the unfamiliar, and come along with me as I guide you through the debut edition of The Depths. Our journey together begins Saturday at 11:00 PM Eastern and repeats on Wednesday at 4:00 PM Eastern..
