Hello all, the host of "Viva: The Classical Music Show", Mara Kelland, here to serenade you in text form once more. It has been a long time since I have done this so apologies for any bloopers I make. Hopefully I will be able too do this much more in the future as time permits.
This week Viva is a Bach special. We will play extracts from a highly influential book of his, "the Well Tempered Clavier" written for keyboard. Pianist Mieczyslaw Horszowski will be our source for the extracts from the first book of this masterwork from 1722 and I will share with you some interesting facts about it.
If you want to know more about WCT check out this wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Well-Tempered_Clavier
Viva will air as usual 8AM Sunday US Eastern Time and be replayed on Tuesday night at 8PM in New Zealand time.
If you wish to contact me you can email mara@mushroomfm.com or tweet @musicalmara. See you on Sunday morning. Looking forward to it!
