Join me for The Early Years where you'll enjoy the best variety of music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades including music from before the rock era.
First, I'd like to thank Bruce Toews for filling in last week during my absence. I very much appreciate his willingness to pic up the show on the rare occasions that I can't do it. Enjoy Old Time Radio on Mushroom Escape, Bruce's passion.
The top 100 countdown of 1958 that I started three weeks ago concludes this week. You'll hear the top 10 songs. When they're done, I'll begin a survey of songs that didn't make the top 100 of the year but charted from January to June. I'll continue the survey in two weeks as I will remember "The day the music died" next week on the 60th anniversary of the airplane crash in Clear Lake, Iowa, that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson, "The Bigt Bopper".
You can contact me any time by e-mail at steve@mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows, especially songs with numbers in their titles or groups with numbers in their names for a series I'm working on.
So join me, Steve Cutway, in The Early Years, as the top 100 of 1958 concludes, tonight at 06:00 PM, proceeding Jonathan and preceding Sara, replaying Wednesday morning at 07:00 AM, preceding The Smorgasbord at its new time, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories!
