No, not in my beautiful balloon but in Sputnik 1, that launched 60 years ago this Wednesday, Oct. 4. And my show just happens to replay that morning.
Hi, I'm Steve Cutway. I will commemorate Sputnik's launch with some songs that tried to capitalize on it. Only one did and it wasn't about Sputnik. I have more twin spins than usual and a song from March 1952 that spent only two weeks on the chart but probably wouldn't get released at all in politically correct 2017.
You can contact me any time by e-mail at steve@mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows.
So join me, Steve Cutway, in The Early Years, for the best music from the first two decades of the rock era, the 50s and 60s, including music from before Rock and Roll was born, tonight at 6 PM, between The Mosen Explosion and Come By The Hills. If you miss the show tonight, it replays Wednesday morning at 7 AM, the day Sputnik 1 was launched, before Morning Munch, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories!
