Sunday is here again in much of the world, and that means that it's time for more Celtic and folk music of an excellent kind on that most excellent station, Mushroom FM! I'm back this week and I'm live, though I came within a hair of deciding to do another encore presentation.
The Juke In The Back” focuses on the “soul that came before rock n’ roll,” the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
Greetings fellow music travelers.
Tonight's musical journey through The Depths will take your ears on a twisting, turning excursion through everything that made progressive FM rock radio so exciting to listen to. You'll hear:
Our trip begins promptly at 11:00 PM eastern, immediately following The snowman.
join me for The Early Years where you'll hear the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.
When I welcomed back the Mushroom FM New Zealand contingent a couple of weeks ago, I suggested that my time for a break might be coming. I didn't know it would be so soon but I've decided to take February off. As a result, there will be no new shows this month but fear not, friends, because you'll still be entertained.
Once again that happy time has rolled around when I’ll be with you for three hours of fun, conversation and great music on The Mosen Explosion. The show also forms the basis of the Mosen At Large Podcast, so if you want to influence the podcast in real time and watch it as it’s recorded live, do join us on Mushroom FM.
This week has been a remarkable one for news, with senators in the US making a sham out of their constitutional duty and Britain finally leaving the EU. I’ll be commenting on both events and the common lesson they can teach us.

Greetings fellow music travelers.
This week marks the 50th anniversary of the release of Simon and Garfunkel's masterpiece album, "Bridge over Troubled Water."
Throughout the night, we will hear some different takes on classic Paul Simon tunes and, in the fourth hour, we will visit a sold-out Carnegie Hall in 1969 where Simon and Garfunkel perform songs from the album a full two months before its release.
Along the way, we'll encounter rare tracks from classic artists who are touring this Summer such as steely Dan, Steve Winwood and Hall and Oates.
join me for The Early Years where you'll hear the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.
This week, I conclude my 2-part, listener-suggested theme, "songs about mining and minerals". You'll hear songs from the 1940s to the 1980s from the country, folk, pop and rock genres including some "stretches" as I referred to them last week.
